CoPilot Live 8 for Windows Mobile screenshot gallery

by Andy Betts, posted Thursday 23 July 2009

ALK’s CoPilot Live is the most popular satnav software for Windows Mobile smartphones, and second only to Nokia’s subscription service across all platforms.

Version 8 is set for launch on Windows Mobile soon, following the recent Android launch (essentially the same software but lacking the Microsoft Live Search integration), and will be available as both a download or pre-installed on a microSD card. A version for the iPhone is also imminent.

The main feature of v8 is the PND-like experience the software offers on a smartphone, with a range of clear and configurable map displays plus extras such as lane guidance. Add to that extras such as a true walking mode, and online functionality including local search and fuel prices, and you have a package that is surely set to cement its position as market leader.

Update – CoPilot Live 8 has now launched download it immediately for just £25.99 for full UK and Ireland maps (including 7 digit UK postcodes) and unlimited use navigation or £59.99 for all Europe.

ALK has announced that its award-winning CoPilot Live navigation software is now available on the Android platform through the Android Market.

CoPilot Live brings the very latest developments in turn-by-turn GPS navigation technology and real-time travel information to the Android platform. Users can benefit from detailed voice-guided turn instructions and cutting-edge 3D mapping, helping them to find their way wherever they go.

In common with the Windows Mobile based and Symbian product, CoPilot’s premium quality digital street maps are stored on the phone, rather than relying on mobile Internet connectivity for per-trip data. Additional map regions can also be downloaded directly to the device.

The software is compatible with all currently-available Android phones, including the newly announced HTC Hero.

CoPilot Live is available to download now, priced £25.99 for the UK and Ireland maps £59.99 for all Europe.
